Welcome to the Heart of Portsmouth

Reviving a Legacy.
In the Heart of Portsmouth

Long before it became a mansion, this corner of Pleasant and Court Streets was already a gathering place fit for statesmen. Colonel Brewster's Tavern once stood here, hosting both George Washington and the Marquis de Lafayette. After fire destroyed that original structure in 1813, a new brick residence rose in its place in 1818: the Treadwell-Jenness Mansion. For over two centuries it has welcomed merchants, founding fathers, mayors, and travelers. Today, that legacy continues, reimagined as a contactless boutique hotel for the modern traveler.
